Mushrooms should not be boiled for cooking as water can soak them. The brush is the answer and this brush is very good with just the right hardness. One end can be used to separate stems or hollow out large mushrooms. CAREFUL!

I like this very much to clean mushrooms. I didn't pay much attention to it until I went to the hardware store where they told me about this wonderful compost they use to grow mushrooms, including straw and chicken manure. I then wanted to clean the mushrooms even more! This is great for that and also for their core if you want to make stuffed mushrooms.

I've never used a mushroom brush that big but it works well with big mushrooms. You could use it for the smaller ones, but since the brush is so wide, it's difficult to hit the spots on the smaller mushroom spaces. Frequently using mushrooms will speed up cleaning the big ones, but not doing so since you'll need the small brushes anyway could be another thing taking up space in your rarely used appliance drawer.

I cook with a lot of Crimin mushrooms, also called Baby Bella. Mushrooms are very useful with proper nutrition, but mushrooms help prevent cancer. I love this ShroomBroom mushroom cleaner and it cleans the mushrooms well. When you wash mushrooms, they absorb water. With this brush, I no longer need to wash the mushrooms, they can absorb the flavor of the herbs and the food prepared there.

Clean the mushroom. Rinse the brush in a small amount of water. Blot the brush with a paper towel. clean the mushroom. This brush is stiffer than I expected, but if you work with the angle of the bristles and don't push too hard, it works great. I expect it to get better as it expands a bit. The shovel is only sharpened on the inside (as far as plastic can be ground), not on the outside. With larger mushrooms, it would be easier to use if the outside was sharpened as well. I'm going to sound like a nerd now, but I've always wanted a mushroom brush. We eat a lot of these and sometimes you end up with a product that is harder to clean with regular rinse aid. When I saw it could be tried, I had to try. The bristles are a bit stiffer than I expected and I will only use them for the harder mushrooms. It works very well.
