Description of ChefSteps Joule Sous Watts White

Smallest, sleekest sous vide tool available at just 11 inches tall and 1.1 pounds, with streamlined white body and finishes. Saves space: Half the size of other sous vide machines, it’s small enough to slip into a top drawer. Heats up fast: 1100 watts of power for hyper-fast water heating. Operating Requirements: Frequency 50 to 60 Hz, single phase. Perfect results: Visual Doneness feature in the Joule app displays exactly how food cooks. Dinner comes out predictably perfect, every time. Wifi and bluetooth ready: Works with iPhone or Android—connect with Bluetooth alone, or cook from anywhere with Wi-Fi. Voltage warning: Works with 120 V outlets only. Due to our precise heating technology, voltage transformers and converters can damage your Joule, and use outside of North America voids the warranty. Note: The package might say ChefSteps Joule Sous Vide. Chefsteps is owned by Breville and the product is the same.

Not worth the investment for sous vide

As a hesitant buyer, I had high hopes for this appliance, but as a result of my tests, I determined that it was simply not worth the investment. While it did perform well in sous vide cooking, the price point was too high for the capabilities it offered. As someone who enjoys experimenting in the home and kitchen, I was disappointed with the limited features and options. Save your money and invest in a more versatile small appliance.

Pros
  • Performs well in sous vide cooking.
Cons
  • Limited features and overpriced.

After you set it up for the first time, give it a try, appreciate the thoughtful magnet on the bottom that prevents it from tipping over in a metal pan, the strong side clip, the quality materials and the easy cleaning. Internal parts of the pump give the certain impression that it was designed by non-Idots. You feel entitled to part with your

I have an Anova WIFI stove and a Joule stove. I like both stoves, but the applications for both leave a lot to be desired, hence 4 stars. If you compare the two sous vide cookers, both have their advantages and disadvantages. 1. The Joule stove is rated at 1100 watts versus 900 watts for Anova. Therefore, the Joule heats the water faster than the Anova. Joule Wins 2 - The Joule cooker has a magnetic base that keeps it in a magnetic pan like a cast iron skillet and the Anova needs to be secured…
