I bought this sponge to work with the Optimum No Rinse car wash. As much as I love the big red sponge I use with the ONR, this glove takes things to the next level. Before use, wash the glove in hot water to remove lint and expose fibers. Then leave the ONR on for a few hours and gently run the glove over the car. Then rinse out the sand bucket, then dive back into the ONR wash bucket and watch the magic happen.

The name says it's extra thick, but the total thickness of both sides is less than 1 inch. I would call it thin at best. It is not only thin but also small. As for the quality of the material, it's excellent. I am definitely disappointed with the product description. It can't even have half the threads listed in the description, and yes, it's nowhere near bold. If you stacked 3 of these on top of each other and sewed them together, they would be thick. For most soap and water car washes I like to use a wool mitt. Most of the synthetic wool mittens I've used are cheap and fall apart. The new wool mittens are not as good as the old ones I have and use.
