Doesn't fit 2 " drain pipe perfectly

I need to unclog a shower drain that rarely spits out water. The drain is perfect, about 2 inches. This plug does not fit in the hole. The rubber slats are so hard they don't go in. I even tried sanding the pipe and using some lube. Don't go in.

Pros
  • Size 2 in
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it, it's fine

Check threads before using

Would give this 5 stars because it seals my 60 year old 2 inch cast iron cleaning perfectly. However, when I started tightening it, the stainless steel nut immediately caught on the threads and became unusable. I found a replacement carriage bolt and nut at a hardware store. Worked great after the repair, but be careful.

Pros
  • NPT, including hard-to-reach 3-1/2 in.
Cons
  • Skimpy Instructions

We wish we had had these years ago.

My husband wanted these so much he asked us to buy them for Father's Day! It is great. They replace the impossible-to-remove cleaning caps that you can never remove when you need to clean your plumbing due to clogs! Especially when it's mud on the street at night. They will be easy to remove. They're really tight too.

Pros
  • Guaranteed to seal any damaged threads
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank

Just what I needed to clear the cast iron drain in my 1950's house

I had my sewer line cleaned and the plumber informed me that the previous owner had greased a rubber plug in place and that I should replace it with a threaded plug when I get a chance. It's hard to tell from the first picture, but the threads are significantly wider than any standard line used today (I've tried everything the store had to offer). I'm sure there is an exact jig somewhere, but I couldn't find it. This stub was exactly what I needed. Although the rubber threads on this connector…

Pros
  • Made from fiberglass reinforced ABS plastic and natural rubber 'O' ring.
Cons
  • Socket Required
