No battery required. The humidity scale is very small and difficult to read. Humidity calibration went wrong by more than 30, had to be recalibrated, which is easy to do with a small screwdriver.

We bought two of these thermometers to replace hard to read digital thermometers in our stable and on the run. You see from zero to over 100F. Seems relatively accurate compared to the old ones. These are not accurate instruments, but the readings are close enough. Very clear and easy to read even from a distance. Happy with them for the price.

We were looking for a simple, easy to read thermometer for a child's room. The dial is very easy to read, but does not show the correct temperature. It always reads between 78-81 even if we put it right in front of a running air conditioner. The only time I saw it drop below 78 was when I put it in the freezer to see if it worked at all. I don't recommend at all.

This thermometer reads 5 degrees higher than it actually is. It looks well made and just the right size for my purpose. I only have to subtract 5 degrees. Temperature. However, I don't know how accurate the temperature is at higher or lower degrees. At higher temperatures, it can be as little as 10 degrees higher. Or it may be accurate at lower temperatures. I do not know.

This thermometer works for us. I installed it so I can easily see the outside temperature while sitting in our family room. It would have been better if it was a few inches taller, but listings seem to have jumped to around 12 inches after that size. The reading during times of day when it is exposed to direct sunlight is 102 degrees or more when the ambient temperature is 20 degrees below.

I bought this for my mother but had it shipped to make sure it was simple and accurate enough for her. It's surprisingly very accurate, maybe 1/2 degree from my house thermostat. I haven't been able to check the humidity yet. I love that you can adjust the temperature and humidity readings by turning the dials sideways with a flathead screwdriver if needed to make them more accurate (I don't need it) and that no batteries are required. I thought it would be perfect to put behind the front door so I can see the temp/humidity at a glance. I had a larger one that could only be read by the interior lights but it was blown away and smashed. This item is the perfect size, 4 inches, with a vintage pocket watch aesthetic. The loop also makes it more secure when hanging from a nail. An unexpected problem is that the face of the thermometer is medium gray instead of white.
