Industrial Electrical Circuit Breaker: CHT2020 Cutler Hammer Review

I needed to add a 20Amp circuit breaker to a panel that didn't have enough space. This old style CHT 2020 circuit breaker from Cutler-Hammer/Eaton Corporation was perfect for adding a second 20A circuit breaker in a breaker slot. It's like having two switches in one. The switch was dispatched and arrived quickly and was exactly as described and expected.

I added a home automation phase coupler and a whole house surge arrester, both of which required a pair of separate circuit breakers. While this didn't increase the load on my panel, it did use up all available slots; So I locked a few of them in to take care of the chains. They work the same as full size switches.

These dual circuit breakers have been around for a long time, but few other than electricians know they even exist. If your panel is already populated with single switches, you can replace them with these double switches, giving you additional single switches inside the box.
