The product is not bad (not perfect) as it is designed for much smaller dogs than "small". I would classify them as "very small". So if your small dog is aiming for the 10 to 12 pound range, he will be very uncomfortable.

Device is wide, has good elastic and velcro, stays in place. It's a durable, canvas-like fabric, but likely not absorbent (no falls though, so can't test it). My pup now weighs about 45 pounds. I ordered a large one that was supposed to weigh less than 50 pounds. It's very tight, barely fits. A larger size would be better.

We bought several of these for our 6 year old Pekingese. He peed in within minutes and always managed to strip them completely when we weren't around, or just enough to pee inside. Not to mention that it was almost impossible to wash and dry them fast enough to keep up with him. They literally take hours to tumble dry and it's hard to get rid of the urine smell.

The fabric is soft and I think it would be comfortable if it was a medium size. This item was too small. My dog is 8 pounds and 13 inches. The small size is advertised as suitable for 8-14 pounds and 8.5-16 inches in length. I'm ordering a medium and will see if it fits. My dog is an old Maltese with a bladder problem. In the disposable pad he wears men's insoles from Tena. If you have a man, Tena pads are the perfect size and shape for incontinence.

The bandage itself is good, well priced, seems durable and retains urine well. Although I measured my dog's waist and according to the measurements in the description I still had 2 inches left, this cape is VERY small. Apparently this is a problem everyone has but I think if I measured my dog I should be fine. I recently bought 2 of these for my medium sized dog. He weighs about 32 pounds. The size description states that it is suitable for dogs weighing 28 to 50 pounds. I opened the package and pulled out the packaging and laughed at how SMALL this thing was. I knew it wouldn't work on my dog. I decided to try it on anyway, suddenly the rubber band stretches a bit.
