It was a piece of crap. That wasn't possible until recently, otherwise it would have gone back. In theory this is a good idea, but by design it doesn't even come close to working. The tubing is too stiff and won't unwind (it's twisted into a ring to keep the little box in place) even after I put it in warm water to soften it. Warning DO NOT buy!

Yes, we had a sock in the dryer vent! The lint collector on my dryer broke last summer. Our kids ran the dryer no matter what! What a disaster. Someone came out to fix our dryer but told us we would probably need a vacuum to clear lint out of the vents. However, wet clothes, three weeks later. Decided to look for someone on Amazon. Got my vacuum cleaner today and now my clothes are dry! I sucked out the sock and also a piece of tape. Good product!

I just received this vent cleaning kit and I can't wait to try it on my Dyson handheld vacuum! It turned out beautiful! A few years ago I bought a long thin vent brush which I used to clean the sides of the vent but couldn't pick up the fine material I was brushing off. I hope you can see that you easily removed this flimsy combustible material with a vacuum cleaner today! I even found a button that I couldn't match before! I am impressed!

I saw that Consumer Reports recommended this product for cleaning dryer vents. It's amazing how much accumulates under the trap, even if it's cleaned before each load. It connected easily to my Shark vacuum hose and allowed me to remove lint that had accumulated over the years with little effort. If the tube was a bit stiffer, removal would probably be even easier, but I was able to use a paint stirrer to push the end of the tube where I needed to direct it. Our signature dryer is only about a year and a half old and we clean the lint filter after every load. My dryer took several cycles to dry a bundle of towels. I cleaned out the large air vents, but couldn't get to the lint filter. I have ordered this item. I got out quite a bit. A minor annoyance was that the tube was rolled up in the packaging. He seemed to have a mind of his own when I pushed him there. But I could handle it.
