Good product, good price

Working with the 3.6 liter GM timing chain is a real pain. You don't want to do it twice. For this reason, technicians recommend Cloyes chain kits. It has everything you need including the quality you expect. And the price is about as good as you'll find, especially when shipping is included. It could only be better if you never had that dog.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Volume

Perfect for spares

Perfect fit. It was sad to see they had no visible size improvement over stock but I am watching them closely as they do show variance over time. Already driven a thousand miles, still on the road in safe mode. There are many chains in a very small space, in the timing cover. I'll watch for a while. I have to admit I haven't hit the gas pedal yet, most likely won't, just to keep them as close to the stretch as possible. The first set (stock) has traveled 110,000 km. Just take a look.

  • Great price

  • Some bugs

Check, then check again, then check chain and sprocket alignment again!

Parts were in the box but the box survived. Went to Cloye's because of the quality and reputation. When I went all out to fit this kit into my 2009 Acadia AWD SLT, 142,000 miles, with the engine still in the car, I didn't want a "nameless" kit. I struggled with the lack of written instructions. YouTube Cloye was good but missed the critical alignment marks on the asterisks that need to be marked for convenience. When I first tried to start the engine, one rev of the engine and it worked! I…

We got them like 5 links aren't true but don't worry.

This set is a real find! Make sure the cam marks are up. The factory color markings don't match, they are 5 links different from the markings, but don't worry about that. I followed online YouTube videos to buy Cloyes. It was 8:00 minutes. Start and stop it during installation. it was actually easy to do! My advice, buy a set of gaskets for the front. Crank seal, water pump rubber and cam magnet seals. Carefully reinstall the cam magnet, I ripped the new one to push it in. Lubricate them. Runs…

Traverse 3.6L Timing Chain 2010

The Traverse was coded POO17 alongside several others. The timing chain was making a whining noise and upon closer inspection was severely loose. Bought these Cloyes on recommendation. Overall the job was stressful but luckily I had the time, the tools and the warm garage to get it done. The installation was done with engine number one. Your videos were very helpful. I bought it and installed it in September 2018. It's still working great (better than it has for years) over a year later. Since…

Buy the best and save yourself the headache later.

Great product!. Don't make the same mistake I did and buy a cheap JDM POS. I replaced my timing chain 5 months ago and it recently started making noise and giving out the dreaded code 0008 again. After poking around the engine twice to try and diagnose the source of the problem, having recently had a installed a new timing chain thought that the problem was indeed with the new timing chain. I did a lot of research and kept reading that Cloyes is one of the best out there. It was twice the price

Do not buy this kit!

I am a professional mechanic and this kit nearly ruined my client's engine. I installed the kit correctly and when I started the car the engine revved about 4 revs and then there was a terrible noise and it went out. I ended up dropping the engine/transmission again and found that the included intermediate sprockets were stuck and not turning which was out of sync and had bent 2 intake valves on cylinder #3. Had to remove the cylinder head and install 2 valves. replaced. I contacted Cloyes and…

Excellent customer service. Good parts. Excellent price.

I have purchased several Cloyes adjustment kits over the years. Never had any problems. Bought 3 from this seller. They always worry about what will happen if something goes wrong. Yes, I had an issue with one of the kits I ordered. Have contacted the seller. It's a pleasure to deal with. Phone calls always answered. Gave the old unit under warranty. After a while, my credit card was credited with the purchase amount. I cannot be satisfied with failure. Required revision that is required…
