Great for plugs and adapters

I used this along with "HDE 3.5mm to 3 Way RCA Audio/Video AV Female Composite Stereo Splitter Cable" to convert an old DVD/VCR -Combination to connect to a new Vizio TV D24h -G9. Plugged it in as soon as it arrived and was able to watch an old VHS tape straight away with no problems. would recommend.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • No insurance

Back on VHS! - Accessories and supplies

We have a VHS player and a small collection of VHS cassettes, but somehow the cable from it got lost during the move. This cable arrived quickly and we (me, he hadn't seen it before and was VERY upset with the ending) enjoyed My Fair Lady with intermission and all. No shorts on the cable, that's how it's supposed to be

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Not trendy

I bought a new VHS with an old technology: composite.

I bought a new VHS with old technology: composite video output instead of the more modern HDMI, so I bought a converter for that purpose, along with these RCA composite video jumpers to get the to connect the VHS output to the converter. I already had a MALE-MALE HDMI jumper to connect the converter to the TV. Everything works great - thank you! - Dick S

Pros
  • Rugged build
Cons
  • Useless features

The middle pins are crappy plastic.

Well at least the copper wire and shield are fine. I put this cable through the wall grommet and all but when I plugged in the video cable the middle pin broke, looks like it's some kind of plastic covered with a very thin layer of conductive coating. I would have sent it back but didn't want to rip the cable so I just took an old RCA cable I had laying around and put a new head on that cable. Overall I think I'm happy with it, after my little mod it works fine.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Reliability

Design 101: measure twice, cut once. I played around and figured I only needed a 1.5 foot cord, then found that it only took two feet to reach the TV PRIOR to pulling out the full articulation wall mount. Ouch! So I reordered the 3ft cable and it was perfect. Most stores these days don't sell anything shorter than 6 feet because the shorter ones are just as expensive. But sometimes we need the exact length, in my case to keep everything tidy in the caravan.

Pros
  • Inexpensive
Cons
  • Big and chunky

Did not help.: Audio and video accessories

Ordered to connect a DVD player to a TV. When I first plugged it in, the picture was in black and white. So of course I double checked the connection thinking I might have mixed up the white and yellow wires as the connector on the TV was hard to see. I brought a flashlight, really read the words, saw I had connected things correctly. The TV is still playing in black and white. I swapped out a few cables to see if the cable was mislabeled. There's still no black and white, or even an image atโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • There are shortcomings

The same cables you've used with CRTs for years.

Nothing special, just a basic set of RCA composite cables. If you used a CRT TV in the late 80's and 90's, you used that to connect a VCR or game console like the NES or DVD player to your TV. To be honest, unless you're building a retro gaming rig, those cables aren't worth it anymore. What are these cables used for? A retro gaming rig that connects various junction boxes to which various consoles are connected and lead straight to a proper old school CRT. If you don't use a CRT these cablesโ€ฆ
