Two problems.1. The distance is very limited. You should research the different channels and privacy settings to find the best one for your area. The biggest pain is trying to attach the device to your belt. In general, this product has many functions.

I bought these radios for hiking in the Sequoias. Since there is no cellular connection, they were ideal for communication between cars. We haven't had any problems with them. The batteries lasted all four days. The flashlight was also a nice touch.

I bought them to communicate with the child while playing in the neighborhood. I didn't want to buy her a cell phone yet, so it worked out great. She goes to friends' houses within a mile radius. I'm at home and can still contact her when she's with her friends. And they have private channels so no one is listening, which is also very important.

Good packaging, delivery on time, item works great. We use it to communicate between our neighboring business and our home. Although I gave the battery a 5 star rating, we didn't have enough time to verify this point. The volume also works very well next to loud devices/mechanisms. The rubberized grip prevents hands from slipping off the device. I have purchased many Cobra products in the past and the quality has always been helpful.

I didn't get a chance to use it because the charging station broke almost immediately where it is plugged in. I started off by giggling about the connector on the back of the base that kept it running. Then it stopped working. When I took it apart I found that the socket is only held in place by soldering directly to the very light circuit board. NOT GOOD DESIGN! I'm still trying to find a replacement charging station.

I don't usually write reviews but this purchase pissed me off so bad I couldn't resist. We use these walkie talkies in our farming work so that we can communicate with each other when we are in different pieces of equipment in field work. One of the Walkiras works great, super clear, loud, overall a great product. The second radio sucks, it's ticking all the time, nobody understands what you're saying and you can't understand what you're saying. So, around 16 hours later with this ticking trash

These radios are a good brand and work exceptionally well, the only problem I have is that two of the four I ordered appear to have been used. I "supposedly" bought them brand new but when they arrived one of the boxes which contained two used ones had the batteries already installed and the radios tuned to channel 9. The radios themselves look slightly used but are nonetheless in early use which is disappointing. assuming I paid full price for "new radios". I just hope they last a long time…

These radios don't work in the woods. I expect some static and dead zones in forested and mountainous areas, but these walkie-talkies are exceptionally poor. Anything more than 50 meters away will have very poor reception and transmission. The buttons are so sensitive that the lightest touch will change the channel or volume.
