These radios don't work in the woods. I expect some static and dead zones in forested and mountainous areas, but these walkie-talkies are exceptionally poor. Anything more than 50 meters away will have very poor reception and transmission. The buttons are so sensitive that the lightest touch will change the channel or volume. I replaced an old radio from another manufacturer that has similar distance and power ratings to this product. I will use this again. If you want them for hunting, don't buy them. Maybe they work on a cruise ship or in the open field.
