The workings of this antenna can best be described as "fur". I can't get the SWR below 2. The reception range is several hundred meters. If you're looking for something to "stick on," this kind works and is cheap. If you're looking for a good antenna, look elsewhere.

This is a small antenna. This will only get you 2xkm far. If you're new to CB on AM, honestly save up for a Stryker A10 magnetic antenna! This antenna can hardly receive transmissions even if tuned to the SWR meter. I would also not recommend going through more than 60 watts. Save your money and buy a Stryker A10 which can handle over 10,000 watts and you can skip 45-100 watt calls. Final reception when set to 1.5 or less on the SWR meter.

Compared to other antennas in the same size and price range, this is a great antenna. There are many better antennas out there, many large antennas, and many more expensive antennas, but for a small, easy-to-use, fast-tuning antenna, this one is fine. That's not very good and I couldn't get a good flat SWR without actually cutting off part of the length of the antenna with a grinder. If I could get an SWR below 2.0:1 I would give it 5 stars but it wasn't possible.

Ordered HG A1000 and connector is broken/serrated. The replacement came as well. I contacted Cobra and asked them what to do with the replacement as this seems to be a common manufacturing defect.
