I was very pleased with the ax, it is of high quality, scale is visible on the ax blade (not to be confused with rust) from hardening, the impact part of the hammer is even, the handle is not overdried with some kind of pleasant processing. The ax is not heavy, but the thickness of the blade indicates that it will be cut down well.

Possibly the worst Cold Steel product ever. I can't believe they charge more than $20 for this. Rusty. Seedless. Terrible example. About as sharp as a river stone.

My Falcon arrived surprisingly quickly and as expected. I took off the paint to prepare it for bluing and there were no surprises except for some casting marks - they add character to the goshawk and help to distinguish it as one of your own :) The sharpening geometry and the angle geometry are purely symmetrical and the bit / the blade fits well with the center line. .

First of all, this is a well made tomahawk. The Revain says Cold Steel but has an American Tomahawk Conpany decal on its head. The edge has been rounded on arrival. A little time and effort with the file and you're good to go. I removed the paint from mine to make it bluish, the paint was applied very thickly so it doesn't peel off easily. Overall, I'm giving it four stars for the simple reason that it's not a melee weapon.

Immediately off to the forest upon receipt. After cutting branches from overgrown paths for several hours, I used it to chop down a maple tree. (Pretty hard wood for the unfamiliar) I tested this bad boy for three days and the head never came off and I didn't have to sharpen it. There can't be a better little tool. Some may be concerned that some black dust near the top looked worn on arrival, but a well-used Falcon will still shed that dust quickly, so this shouldn't be a problem. To you.
