I love this colander. I'm a weirdo for not having a raised strainer because of hot water pouring over my pasta or veggies in a dirty sink. I also don't have space to store a strainer on legs. This one is perfect. Folds up nicely and compactly to fit in my narrow cupboard of chopping boards and baking sheets. The only reason I'm only giving 4 stars is because it's really hard to crash and reopen. It's pretty tough. I hope it loosens up a bit with longer use. That wouldn't stop me from buying it,

We've been using this colander for 2 1/2 years now and it's great. It has enough space for everything we use to keep busy and I love how the handles slide out. However, handles have a problem in that the space they retreat into cannot be cleaned. I recently washed it and took the handles out all the way to wash it and black moldy dirt comes out. The space saver is certainly good, but I still have some doubts: The bevel on the corner is too wide. If you try to just toss it in a corner (which is the only logical place you could try) you'll likely lose a lot of what you drained as it slips around the edges. The second issue I have is that what is holding the support arms appears to be quite fragile. I grabbed one end of the colander to remove it and as the other end twisted towards the floor my hand slipped out. The thing holding the hand
