Columbia Alpine Action Jacket in X Large Size Review

Coldest day was around 10 degrees Fahrenheit but I was warm enough in just a few layers. My only gripe was that the felt curved oddly around my mouth, requiring me to constantly adjust it. I think once I get that sorted things will be fine

Unfortunately I did not review this jacket quick enough to be able to send it back and get it working. Although I love the jacket, it's comfortable and warm, the only thing that caught my eye was the bottom of the lining which has 4 buttons (2 on each side) to keep out the wind and cold - on one side the buttons have been moved back to allow you it need twist the flap to snap it. Clearly shoddy workmanship which I am disappointed in but cannot return or exchange.

I ordered this XL jacket for my son who is 6ft 3 in 210. This jacket is perfect! I ordered and returned a few items that didn't fit, but now we have a winner. The color is a little darker than the picture which is great. The pass is roomy enough for a thick fleece jacket when it's really cold. I can't say enough good things about it, he hasn't skied in it yet but he is very happy with the jacket.

Very warm ski jacket. We skied in 20 degrees and gusty winds. There are only a few layers under this jacket and I was warm enough. Great looking coat. I wear size 44-46 in a jacket and my size XL fits perfectly. Several practical pockets, including a sleeve pocket for a lift ticket (digital). I would take this jacket again.

Spent a few days snowshoeing, coat was too hot during the day when layered with sweaters (mid 20s sun) but perfect for night skiing when cool and sunny .

This is a beautiful jacket, well made. It's too bulky for a touring jacket, but great for long walks on the country roads where I live on cold days. Very light base coat and I'm fine except for temperatures below 30. Lots of nice features and for $86 (for blue) you can't beat it. 2nd best ski jacket on switchbacktravel.com. Recommend.

My new favorite jacket. Surprisingly warm for such a light weight. The cuffs and waist keep drafts out and the lining really reflects your body heat without the need for bulky insulation. With temperatures in the single digits, I felt comfortable even in the wind. I'm 6ft 2" and lanky (165lbs) on average with enough room for a bulky sweater if I want to.

Bought for my son. Such a good jacket. He warmed him up in sub-zero temperatures with a biting wind on a ski trip. Also looks very nice.
