At this point, shoes fit like a glove. Columbia got it right because they don't look like hiking shoes, they definitely look like trail running shoes. I use this shoe as a casual shoe so the waterproofing issue is secondary to traction with the sole - sticky and sticky! I don't use bulky hiking socks so I can wiggle my toes and expect them to stretch a little but not as much as the mesh which I prefer.

The hiking shoes look good and are very comfortable. I've hiked a few tours with the shoes and have never had a base. The shoes are definitely waterproof, but since they are only ankle-high, the socks can get wet in the ankle area in heavy rain or on wet ground (larger puddles).

I bought these shoes exactly the same size as the leather free Columbia shoes that are sold at Revain. And I've been wearing these (leather) shoes for many years and swap them out whenever necessary. Unfortunately, they are either narrower or narrower due to the lining and therefore a bit more uncomfortable than their mesh counterparts. However, they are significantly more "stylish" and make excellent casual/walking shoes for occasions where a little more formality is required.

Too soon after purchase before I can give a full review. But so far: - I'm very happy with the fit and feel so far. -Compared to other shoes I've worn, the arch support feels right on center. Not extreme, but not flat like traditional New Balances either. I like the overall look and structure. I didn't want the mesh because I've seen many reviews of other trekking and hiking shoes mentioning that the mesh comes from the front toe. I wanted something more robust for bad weather and cooler times.

UPDATE: I've changed my mind about these shoes after a few months. They were fine for the first few months, but after a few months they were no longer waterproof and let water through even when walking on wet grass, which is ridiculous. It took me a while to find it but I found the perfect shoe I was looking for. I can wear them for hiking, walking or just casual. They are super comfortable and stylish. I have a wide foot but these were sold out so I went up a half size and they fit perfectly. I like how they feel. I've worn them on camping trips and enjoyed taking them for walks. It's only been a month but I still love these shoes.
