Good value for money for a mid-cut shoe

This is my third pair of Colombian sneakers in the last year and a half. I find them very comfortable for daily walking or hiking. I used to buy a pair of Merrel hiking boots and after a while I practically threw them away due to pain in the back of my heels. The design of the Merrel shoes has a narrow section at the top of the back of the heel which in turn makes them rub unnaturally on my feet. After a week of wearing, I started having pain in the affected area. So far, no Columbia shoe has…

The right shoe creaks

I've had these shoes for less than a month. Everything was fine for 2 weeks, then the right boot started to creak. No matter what surface I walk on (concrete, carpet, tile, etc.), the right shoe squeaks LOUD. I tried to contact the manufacturer and they basically said there was nothing they could do about it because I bought the Revain shoes. Sorry, but this is YOUR product. YOU did it, not Revane. It looks like they just don't want to endorse their product. There are too many other shoe…

The best shoes for hiking!

I know it's not a hiking mark. However, on a whim I tried Columbia as a hiking shoe. WOW! I was impressed. You are wonderful! I'm just a part-time weekend traveler, but I'm completely sold out in these uncomfortable shoes. Yes, Columbia has great wet-weather clothing and jackets, but no shoes. I dared and won! I would encourage you to give them a try! I'm a big fan of Altra and Keen shoes, they were all I wore until I tried these! Columbia Redmond V2! I am very impressed! Extremely comfortable,

Good hiking shoe with one problem

I bought a pair of these Columbia Redmond V2 hiking shoes; They are true to size (15 "normal" widths), are comfortable and hard-wearing. They offer good lateral support and the outsole provides good traction on rocky and gravel paths. These shoes can be slippery on wet or icy rock, but that's true of all trail shoes I've used. I had to replace the insoles with extra padding otherwise my heels and toe balls hurt after 7+ miles of walking/hiking. more before the shoes wear out. This doesn't…

Good but still a bit tight for the wide ones

I really like these shoes and am personally a big fan of Columbia shoes. I read the opinions and I knew the width might not be wide enough. The price went down so I couldn't do without it. I wear wide shoes and yes they are not as wide as other Columbia shoes, I took a pair I bought recently and compared them. I noticed that while this shoe is wide, it is maybe a half an inch narrower than my other Columbia purchase. I would recommend buying wide shoes even if you don't wear wide shoes simply…

Runs small and narrow, it's a good shoe with the right size.

Very comfortable shoes, but small and narrow. I originally ordered a width of 9.5, I have wide feet. I have a pair of Columbia Crestwood Low 9.5s and they fit great. I had to return the Redmond and got a 10. Comparing the last of the Crestwoods to the Redmond, the Crestwood was 1/2 inch larger than the Redmond in the outsole and toe box. So I would use "wide" very loosely. Also, this shoe is very similar to running shoes, an old version of the Nike Pegasus without a heel lift for more…

Great shoes (was) for men

Very comfortable from the start, seems sturdy and well made. I called Columbia customer service to file a warranty claim and found out a few things that to some extent mitigate the limited warranty options. I have been told that if the shoes are defective and I elect to take out a company loan I will be compensated at "market value”. I asked what that meant and the company rep asked for specific identifying information on the size tag on the sneakers. I was expecting a token gesture at best…
