Type of review

I bought this shirt because many experienced hikers choose the Columbia Silver Ridge Lite. Well, I can see why: it's comfortable, lightweight and, as an added bonus, looks great in a casual or even business setting. Some buyers seem to complain that this is more than they expected. I think it's good and generously cut, but neither baggy nor too big for me. I also like the feel of the material and it breathes well for me - I haven't experienced the stickiness that some reviewers are claiming. I…

Best value for hiking/outdoors and even travel

If you're looking for an outdoors/hiking/adventure shirt that can often be found at bargain prices, this is for you. Comfortable, lightweight, good looking, durable, breathable and quick drying. Four stars instead of five is really due to Columbia having to stop wearing Omni-Shade on the sleeve when it's not required. You just need to put it on the inner label. This is a subjective style choice that is irritating to the eyes. Something else you might like that is often more expensive but is on…

Favorite shirt, best among men

I am 1.60 m tall and weigh 95 kg and I wear 33/34 pants. I order a large in this shirt and it fits perfectly. This is my favorite shirt. I have blue and green. I've also owned previous versions of this. I call it my adventure shirt. When I travel I wear these shirts, they're dressed for urban environments, they're dressed for walks and adventures. Tucked in or unbuttoned, sleeves rolled up or down, I've never had a problem getting where I needed to be. I travel with them to museums, I eat in…

Comfortable but starting to roll up

I wore this on a 10 mile hike with a fairly light pack and after the first hike the back left side of the shirt started to dry roll up quite a bit. I expect short staple cotton to roll like that, but not synthetic. The shirt is really comfortable and light but not very durable. I love how it suits me. It's not too baggy and it's nice that it has 2 buttons on the wrist. Sometimes I like a little extra wrist room when it's hot, but if I don't want the sleeves to get in the way I can zip them…

Good shirt, looks HUGE, good colour, looks less fancy than many

The fabric is nice and soft and the 'mountain' color is pretty much the same as the pictures online - definitely blue but muted and with a touch of grey. You can wear this color with shorts or pants of almost any color. The shirt doesn't look as street-friendly as some of Columbia's other similar shirts, which is a good thing. I'm well over 6 feet tall and weigh about 175 pounds with single digit body fat. My chest is 39-40 inches and my natural waist is 32-33. The size SMALL (!) fits me…

Like a Patagonia shirt but much cheaper

I bought a Patagonia shirt in roughly the same color, material composition and UPF protection. Nice shirt, but I didn't like the fit that much. As you can imagine it was expensive and I wasn't sure I would keep a shirt I didn't like for that much money. I found this Columbia shirt as a possible replacement and loved it. Fits perfectly. The Patagonia shirt was weird. He was too broad in the shoulders but narrow in the biceps. I lift, but I don't have howitzers for biceps. I couldn't even roll my
