Suitable for professional or kitchen use.

I bought this instrument to give to a friend. I have two, one for work and one for home. They are very durable and mine has been dropped a few times. The only thing is that after the last seven years the lid is not as reliable as it used to be. But it doesn't fall either.

Pros
  • Accuracy up to ±1°C / ±2°F
Cons
  • Long wait

Great for home use in thermometers and timers

Due to many tears I used a $300 restaurant thermometer as a gift and it worked great. Then the probe's detachable coiled cable wears out and shorts out, and I can't fix it. Their website states that the correct replacement sensor is $50 - too much for my use. Also note that they made this device perfect for the home and it's a lot cheaper than replacing a probe. I made a mistake? - Heck, it does everything I need, although maybe not with the higher accuracy of its replacement, and I saved…

Pros
  • Field calibrated and NSF listed
Cons
  • Has cons
