DANGER - DO NOT BUY

I have had this heater for two years now. At first it seemed that this is a quality car. Powder-coated adjustable fan, thermostat that doesn't just turn it on and off. I've had a heater in the same place for two years and today I turned it on and it started smoking. Smells like burnt plastic. I'm glad I didn't go. Read other reviews if you wish, there are many reports of smoking these heaters. This thing is dangerous.

Pros
  • Imported
Cons
  • Upgradeable

This is not a Pelonis heater. Mine broke after 4 months.

This device only lasted about 4 months. Please note these are not Pelonis heaters. I was just about to write a review. As you can see in the picture, I have an original Pelonis heater that I bought 30 years ago. He's been beaten to shit, but he's still working great. The pleasant glow of bdisc6 doesn't even come close to that of Pelonis in terms of quality. I will never spend a dime on any other product from them. Stay away.

Low quality junk: heating, cooling and air quality

This heater lasted a year and a month. And I had some trouble with it when he was about 3 months old. I picked it up to move it while it ran and an electric arc started. It didn't turn off the switch, so I turned it off and checked. There were no loose contacts, the insulation was not broken, no damage was found. I always made sure to leave this heater on a flame retardant insulated rubber mat when it was running, just in case something happened again. Just died today. I will not buy from this…

Pros
  • Rugged brown box steel housing
Cons
  • Cord shorter than others

Good Heater, Very Poor Engineering

This little heater worked great for a very short time. We used this little heater to warm up a small room in our garage for bike training on a very cold winter day. We live in Arlington, Texas so May days aren't usually very cold - we've used it maybe 15 times per season, 1.5 to 4 hours each use; I estimate the total number of applications to be around 50 at 130 hours. THAT'S A GREAT RATE! A power cable connected to a poorly designed temperature sensor connector will be subjected to direct heat

Pros
  • Accidental tripping while tipping over
Cons
  • Modern

Good Bad (I use 3 of these)

Great little heater for my needs, consider the following: 1.) You can get a defective unit (short in the cable), defective thermal switch), send back. 2.) The lowest setting puts out around 500-600W of heat continuously, if it's too much the thermostat won't regulate and you'll get very hot. 3.) it's easy to send back the bad ones 4.) it's really small but reliable (don't buy it and wait a year to test it, I can't return it) * I would give it 4 runs, but I don't see it as appropriate, 3 stars…

Pros
  • Electronic thermostat with external ambient temperature sensor
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Had 2 real Pelonis peerless heaters. This one is unparalleled in quality. Cheap expensive Chinese fake. Worst of all it gives off a disgusting electrical smell when heated and everything in the room picks up that smell so you can enjoy it for a couple of days even with the heat off. .I have to let it run outside for a few days to see if the smell goes away before the return period is up. Nothing compares to outdoor heating. UPDATE May 2020 The heating stopped working after a season of regular…

Pros
  • External ambient temperature sensor
Cons
  • May cause injury

Buy with confidence. That's a great heater!

Contrary to some reviews on this product, this 'Comfort Glow' ceramic disc heater is the exact same product as my 6 year old 'Pelonis' ceramic disc heater just sold under a different brand name. I still have my Pelonis heater and in my opinion these two heaters are identical in every way. They weigh the same, look the same and function the same. The fan of the new heater is as quiet as the fan of the old model. In fact, I tested both heaters with my Kill-A-Watt EZ meter and found that the old…

THE BEST AFTER CUT BREAD!

I can't say enough good things about this handy little fancy device! I first bought it a few decades ago. . . and now i bought another one. I use two of these to heat two rooms in my house - my bedroom and my home office - late at night after turning on the thermostat in the rest of my house while I work at my desk late into the night. the early morning hours on cold winter evenings. . This is a tactic that has saved me a small fortune on my winter heating bills. Why heat the whole house at…
