Small but mighty: Home Fans

I live in the Central Valley of California. It is very hot from May to October/November. I have 2 large fans in my studio but I need a smaller one for the bathroom. The 16" Commercial Cool fan is the perfect size and moves an incredible amount of air. Noise at medium settings acts like "white noise" at night and is quiet enough at the lowest settings not to disturb Zoom and Team meetings. The base is solid, but the fan is light enough to move around and the 6-foot cable is very convenient.

  • Good Thing

Quiet and powerful. Two thumbs up

I cycle a lot in my basement during the winter months and bought this fan to cool me down. So far it's been exactly what I was hoping for. I tried the cheaper Honeywell 15" but was very disappointed that the fan blades were only 9" in diameter. This Westinghouse fan is much more reliable. It is very light and the plastic body cannot be described as "heavy". However, it is quiet and powerful. I am happy.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Reliability

Great for training, requires two redesigns.

When a hurricane was blowing I installed it with a recumbent right in front of the pedals and tilted it about 45 degrees. Main downside: Apparently there's no way to remove the front or back grille to clean the blades of dust. A small drawback is the impractical carrying handle, it easily slips out of your hand, especially when you sweat. Solution: Tape a 4-inch strip of foam tape to the bottom of the handle to keep it in place on your fingers. There is no need to remove the backing from the…

Definitely moving the air, a little louder than expected

Very happy with this fan. It definitely moves air, even at the lowest speed. At medium and high, the noise increases a little more than expected, but not so much that it's unexpected. The side latches are good but plastic so don't have to turn them. Simply comfortable is good. It can even rotate straight up to work like an "inverted" ceiling fan. (try it, you will be surprised). I have a larger fan than most small ones, which I usually had to set to medium or high to actually move a decent…

Holy Bernoulli Effect, Batman! This fan blows!

Seriously, apart from having to rotate it every time I tilt it a little, this thing is amazing! I had a dual fan that sent out barely half the airflow like this one. It was louder on medium settings than on high. That doesn't mean he's quiet. High settings are certainly excellent as noise for a night's sleep. Crazy airflow, small shape and light weight make it a great floor fan in any greenhouse, living room or even indoor grow room. My only complaint is that the controls are in the back…

Pros
  • Not just usable for its intended purpose

  • There are flaws
