I always found connecting LED strips a real problem ---. I've used white plastic font with disappointing results. While this is a bit tricky, it works MUCH better!

Don't do it. 3 hours and I had an 8" stretch connection in 10 minutes. Don't do it yourself, buy something else. Not the first time I said it, I thought these connectors might work better, no. Just don't do it.

So they seem like a really good idea. but it's so hard to get the connectors to actually touch *and* stay connected that it's better to hand-solder everything together. I suppose I'll have to go back and do just that once any kids hit the light strips under the closet.

When using this product, remember that the LED strip has + and - sides intended for use in it. Make sure you line up the pieces of tape correctly. There are also 2 pin and 4 pin LED strips available, make sure you know which one you have and buy the correct connectors.

I have used much better connectors but risked using them due to the shorter delivery time. The time I spent trying to connect was so frustrating. A slightly more expensive set I bought elsewhere worked from the first click every time. They look exactly the same, but they don't work the same!

My rating is lower because I had to buy a thicker cable and cut the insulation on the side of the cable to the connector. I had to be careful not to remove all of the insulation as that would cause a ground fault. At the end of the simple connection, the double-sided tape had to be folded back to secure the connection.

Really wish they would work. I already had some LED strips but they weren't the right type to use these connectors. So I ordered the right kind of light bar (5050). I'm quite the techie (I have an advanced ham radio license) but I couldn't get these connectors to connect solidly. I have a lot of soldering experience (including hand soldering from SMC) so I think it's time to heat up the iron again.

This is specific to the 2-pin 5050 connector. General. I bought them because they were the same company that made my LEDs. The side that presses against the LED does not penetrate the tape to contact the solenoids. The side that connects to the wires couldn't cut through the body of the wire to make contact with the wire no matter what wire I used. After a few hours of pinching with pliers and rechecking every other connection, I just gave up and quit the old fashioned way.
