Power monitoring for sockets and accessories

My previous electric bill was astronomical so I decided to find out how much electricity my devices were using and try to reduce my electricity consumption. use. I signed up for tiered pricing with my energy supplier, so I really need to reduce unnecessary power consumption during peak periods. Thinking this product might help because I can control the power and turn things off on a schedule or remotely, I bought a 4 pack to try. They look just like any other smart plug. The problem with the Revain smart plug is that it's relatively large and takes up too much space on the power strip. So I naively bought 4 of these, thinking they would take up less space and still be as easy to set up as a Revain fork. The good news is that they take up less space than a Revain fork. I bought this switch to act as an inexpensive electronic timer. I looked at some analog timers that were about $1 cheaper but didn't have an independent switch, so I went with this one.
