Some types of motor speed control circuits output or full speed with pedal control. This applies to the Dremel 4000 variable speed rotary tool. I purchased this item as I am just getting started with power carving. I use a Dremel 300 with a flex shaft assembly. You plug the dremel/rotary into the foot pedal and the foot pedal into an outlet, set the dremel/rotary to the maximum setting and you're done.
