I bought this mini UV sterilizer out of desperation about algae blooms in my Fluval spec V. I saw on the forum that another owner did this and was very pleased. So I took a chance and bought it with the recommended Pulaco 50 gph pump. After a lot of fiddling I found that the installation can work if you use the original manifold from the original pump. I have a Bio Cube 32 that has been working for about three months. I have all values (ammonia, nitrites, nitrates) almost at zero. Despite this and water changes I had an algae problem. I had to rinse the glass several times a day and the water was cloudy. Other filters are the standard BioCube and ChemiPure Blue filters.
