Not a suitable replacement for the replacement cartridge filter elements that came with my hob filter

I found the pores in this sponge to be too large and it didn't handle mechanical filtration properly. Water. As a biofilter, it seems fine. As the only carrier in my hob filter, it was unsatisfactory. This is not like the round sponge material that comes with a regular sponge bubble filter.

That's a good value. I could shorten it.

Works well. That's a good value. I was able to crop it to size to fit my filter. (You may know that sponge filters are way better than cartridge filters where you get rid of good bacteria every week.) I've only had mine for about 2 weeks so I can't comment on how well it's holding up over any period of time, although this sponge does is large enough to be used in multiple filters. (probably 4-5 of the ones I use it on)

Great product at a great price. Many uses

Originally purchased to attach small/sensitive fish to the intake of my AquaClear 110 filter but ended up using most of it to fill a large hole at the top of a giant mangrove root resin decorative tree. the part that caught the bubbles and many reviewers said the fish would get stuck in it. Can also be used to replace the actual filter unit if it ever breaks (don't expect this to happen as it can be reused after a thorough rinse/clean). Good quality.

Exactly as pictured/advertised. The measurements were accurate.

One reviewer said they received a sponge with a 90 degree angle (which made me a little suspicious). To be clear, it comes in packaging that's a little smaller than a sponge. Mine was also bent at the end and the corners were rounded as well. I took it out of my pocket, turned it upside down (so the curve was on top) and put something on top. During the day it was completely flat and the corners turned into real curves. This is just what I needed to put 2 homemade filters together and I wouldโ€ฆ
