good for kitchen utensils and gadgets

Of the new aerators we've tried recently, this is our favorite. It stays in the bottle so you don't have to hold the aerator over the glass and fiddle with it after pouring. It makes a lot of bubbles. There's a talent for using it without spilling the wine all over the place, as my clumsy self learned from the first pour. We use this aerator all the time now and replace the Christmas gift aerators we gave people with this one. And yes, we'll get another one for ourselves. We haven't had any…

Pros
  • Hand wash with warm water
Cons
  • Functionality

We love VinOair

I've looked at all the existing wine aerators and read many reviews here and elsewhere. I decided we would try VinOair first and then Vin-aire. Vin-aire may work better than VinOair, but I wanted to try VinOair first because it's cheaper and I liked the uncluttered design of the spout. The plan was that if we could really feel the difference in flavor it might be worth trying a more expensive aerator later. We've been using VinOair for three months now and there's no mess. We've done blind…

  • Dual oxygen chamber delivers twice the vacuum of other leading aerators

Works almost as well as a carafe

Bought this as a sort of stocking stuffer for my husband. I was hoping for something that would carbonate the wine a bit without spending a fortune (and without making a mess). It seemed like the perfect compromise between cost and features. We ran an experiment two days ago to see how this meshes with decanting wine. We bought a recommended bottle of New Argentine Malbec from a vendor who said to let it sit for 30 minutes to get the best flavor. It seemed like the perfect wine to try this…

Pros
  • Also works as a wine pourer and drip stopper
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Ideal for red wine

Red wine needs to be aerated for full flavor. You can do this by decanting the bottle by pouring it into another glass container, which usually has a large opening. Aeration helps get rid of unwanted chemicals and gases in red wine, including sulfides, sulfates, and even ethanol, which can add acidity and rubbing alcohol. Using the VinOair aerator in the bottle adds bubbles to the poured wine straight from the bottle and works great. I still prefer to fill the wine into another bottle and even…
