These reminders are both a blessing and a curse because .

These memory sticks are both a blessing and a curse because they are the only 16GB sticks that can be used to fully populate the ThreadRipper 128GB motherboard. They do not work reliably at XMP2 speed (DDR4 3200, 1.35V). I have 4 sticks, 64GB, on Gigabyte Designare ThreadRipper 1950x. Unfortunately, I had to replace six memory sticks to get a stable DDR4 3200 system. Some sticks were DoA. Two more ran only with DDR4 2666 (not 3200). Last week a memory stick died after six weeks of operation…

Works great at 2666MHz

Received this and installed it in my new Ryzen 5-2600 build. I have a Gigabyte b450 Aorus M motherboard. The new PC started immediately with no problems with RAM, CPU or mobo. When I read that most RAMs can be overclocked since they are all basically 2400MHz, I used the Gigabyte EasyTune app to overclock. The app makes it very easy as you don't have to enter any numbers in the bios. The app does that for you. All you have to do is select the speed you want. It runs stably at 2666MHz but when I…

I will never buy Corsair again

I'm not someone who values one star reviews or writes such ratings. Especially at a company like Corsair. I usually either write them off as outliers or assume the reviewer didn't know how to use the product properly. I can tell you from experience that was not the case. I'd like to start by saying I've been a loyal Corsair customer for almost 20 years, first as an enthusiast building gaming computers for myself and now also as part of my career. The PC I'm writing this review on is made up of…

Stick broke after less than 2 years of 24/7 use

I have been building my own computers since the first XT clones and have NEVER had problems with memory leaks. I run a distributed computing project on this particular machine (World Community Grid) and have done so since its construction. This is a CPU-intensive project, but it's fairly demanding on a machine's memory. However, I am running this project on multiple computers and have been for about 10 years. The machine I am writing this on now is an old Intel i-2600k that has been running WCG

  • Good looking

Test or have tested extensively immediately after purchase.

I bought this 32GB kit for my Gaming PC/Hackintosh build. Everything seemed to work fine, sometimes programs would crash, but I figured it was something to do with my configuration or the BIOS or something else. After not being able to figure out what was going on, I invested in a hardware testing program (TechTool Pro 9 for OSX). It turns out that one of the memory modules is defective. I don't even pass the first test. The second works fine. No big deal I figured I'd just contact the seller…

Doesn't run above 2666MHz on 1st Gen Ryzen

I tried running this at the advertised speed and figured some BIOS updates on my AsRock Fatality B350 would do the trick. And no matter what I did, I could NOT run it faster than 2666MHz on my Ryzen system. I thought it might be the motherboard. But I'm happy with my setup. Here are my numbers in case you are in a similar situation: 15 16 16 16 35 51, @ 2666MHz. Update 2021: Note this was before when I had a Ryzen 1700X. It runs at 3000MHz on Ryzen 3rd Gen.

32GB is too much for gaming!

Let me tell you these sticks have worked great for my current setup. Asus Prime b350m-a Mainboard PSU 650W Ryzen 1700x at stock frequency GTX 1070256 GB m.2 SSD All I did was update the mainboard firmware to the latest version and install these sticks as a dual channel setup. Switch DOCP to "Automatic" and it will automatically find the most efficient setting. Set your desired frequency to 3000MHz and voila! 32GB at 3000MHz with no lags and dropouts. Better than anything? You don't have to…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Very expensive
