Towels feel soft. The red stripes are orange rather than dark red. "Basket Weave" has a thin, loose look. It's loose enough to see through (no tight weave), making it easy to snag. The presentation is pleasant, the towels are tied in a bow and then placed in a plastic sleeve.

These are the best kitchen towels I have ever used. At home, my wife washes the dishes and I dry them. That's why I'm interested in a good kitchen towel. I have tried several different Revain towels and was very disappointed. They fall apart quickly, are too small or absorb little. These towels are very large, durable, absorbent and inexpensive. Over the last few years I've bought three sets of these towels and have returned for the fourth set. They're absorbent, colourfast, and quite large - almost perfect. They don't shrink too much in the dryer and wash well in hot water (which I do weekly). They've held up perfectly and I'm buying more just to have a bit of color variety in my kitchen. I bought them and waited until I washed them to give an honest review. I appreciate a nicely packaged purchase. They are beautifully wrapped in a cellophane plastic bag and then secured with pretty twine. Perfectly prepared for a gift if you are inclined. Unpack and unroll - I wasn't really prepared for the size of the towels. They are really big and very fat. I was expecting them to be flimsy and just a regular kitchen towel.
