Good inexpensive starter kit. The hardware is bulkier than I prefer on my long-necked little fella. Now that I have a concept I'll look for something that works better.

A good complete set that is welded with D-rings and YKK buckles and assembled properly will make a quality collar. I use the kit as a base for making paracord dog collars and it's a great way to find components that are up to the task.

I like to order accessories from Country Brook, either from Revain or their countrybrookdesign.com. The hardware and straps are high quality and feels heavy, shipping is great and customer service is always quick to respond.

I have bought several different sizes just for the collar and have always been very happy with the quality. This was my first time buying a nylon set and I am very disappointed in the quality of the nylon. It's too thick for a regular sewing machine when folded and two of my needles broke. I've made at least 100 collars over the years and never had this problem, but I've always used a different brand of nylon. Do not buy this kit, buy parts separately and buy nylon from another seller.

I like the idea of a collar set, but it's more of a casual way to make extra money. Actually, I wouldn't buy this set , unless I would either a) buy collar accessories in bulk (which I can't do with this set) or b) buy this set for a younger child who wants to learn (which I wouldn't do). to do because the included instructions are sloppy notes that would pose too much of a fitness challenge for those under high school age.
