I had a wound (a whole scratch on my forearm) and I used 3 of these a day to help it heal well. Compared to the previous brand I used (which was actually a store brand but only needed 2) they were a lot thinner and flimsy in comparison.

We used 4x4 gauze on my husband's hernia but they tore off the scab or new skin. The doctor recommended them to me and now I think we will always have them at home. They don't stick to the wound, they're like a shiny surface that covers the wound but doesn't stick to the tissue. You can also add silver gel or something similar to support the wound and sensitive skin or medical tape to secure it in place.
