💨 Vornado 279 High-Performance Large Panel Air Circulator Fan Review

Keeps the room cool and cozy. Moves the air very well. The specific version of the tornado is louder than the others - works well if you want the white noise version to help you sleep.

I have purchased tower fans. No longer. Vornado 279 is the best fan I have ever bought. We've had a number of hot and muggy days and I've used the Vornado plus tower fan and no AC and I've been comfortable. It's fairly quiet on low settings, which I keep on most of the time because it vents a lot of air, but it has medium to high settings. I'm happy with that.

This fan is very quiet on low settings but pushes a lot of air. a bit louder in the mids and highs, but also with significantly more air volume. Very effective on chickens that sleep soundly at night. I bought two of these - one to bring outside air into the house at night and one to divert it into the bedroom - and was able to avoid using the air conditioning for most of the summer. Big Savings. not to mention a reduced contribution to CO2 emissions.

Fan power seems high enough, but it doesn't actually pull cooler air out the window like I thought it would. I got tired of bringing the fans outside because I had to close the windows. I figured sitting right next to the window would be the best solution, as it was supposed to be very windy I assumed cool air would come in and cool the room down quickly. Works moderately. It looks sturdy and is a good size. The middle button gets stuck, so it's difficult to start with the "middle" button.

I have an old Vornado fan of the same size and voltage and wanted a different one. These tilts seemed to have the same tension and magnitude, but somehow this one isn't as strong as the other AND it is NOT tilting. For example, in most situations I really want the fan to just be in the normal down position, but I don't want it to stay and only go up a few times. In our unemployed times, it's really a shame to spend so much money on a fan that doesn't really do its job. I'm trying to find out if

Big soft on low and gets louder as you go from mid to high. But compared to other fans I have, like Honeywell's high-speed fans, they're not only quieter, they're also much more powerful.
