I put them on black paper and they didn't do well. The regular set of flowers worked beautifully, but they got clunky. They might be better on other paper but the texture was different than other 16 color crayon sets.

Excellent pastel colors. The colors are bright. The pens are larger than regular oil pastels and go further. They look great on both thick paper and white art paper. Can even be used on mixed media painted canvas. Great product for my drawing class.

I love these oil pastels! I was very surprised at the quality, maybe because I was expecting half wax crayons, but Crayola really nailed it! The attached picture shows my daughter and I painting in the dark with a black marker and oil pastels. The only downside is that the pastel is quite wide so it's difficult to color along the lines, but it's great for the casual artist!

I think this is normal. they would be good for children. I tried them as an artist as a supplement and they didn't suit me one bit. Although my niece loves her. The colors are fantastic! Very bright and saturated. However, they are a bit waxy for oil pastels, which I think makes them a little less messy, but also a lot harder to blend. My final opinion is that if you're just a gamer, this is a great addition to your art chest. But if you work more seriously, then don't worry.
