Actual Natural Bone

This is bone, not plastic. The holes are sized for cord made from #10 crochet cotton and tiny seed beads. But it is easy to drill the holes out to a bigger size. Other shaping, such as tapering the forks or narrowing the waist to hold more cord, is easily done with sanding or filing, so you can precisely customize this great little tool. The finish is high-gloss, so thread clears the forks quickly, for using speed techniques like the Ziggy method. The weight is nice and heavy for the small…

Pros
  • Arts, Crafts & Sewing
Cons
  • The intricate design may be difficult to clean and maintain

Poor workmanship on my review.

It is very cheaply made. Looked nothing like the picture. Very poor workmanship. I’ll keep it because I don’t want to go through the trouble of a return. I got what I paid for in away.

Pros
  • Got this as a gift & it was well received.
Cons
  • May cause discomfort or callouses on your fingers due to repetitive use

great little lucet - my new review

This is my first lucet. I opted for the bone one, and yes, it is bone, you can tell by the smell when you sand it. Since the ends of the tines are blunt I rounded them with a Dremel to make it easier for the loops to slide over.It is a pretty small lucet; I've been using it fine to make cord out of worsted weight yarn, but I suspect a slightly larger one would be more comfortable for me. However, it's well made and satisfying to the touch.

Pros
  • ★ Make drawstrings, lacings, buttons and embellishments for your knit and crochet projects. One tool, infinite possibilities. The new, patent-pending tool that makes pom poms, tassels, a variety of friendship bracelets, cords and weavings that also converts into a slingshot.
Cons
  • May take time to master, making it less accessible to beginners

It's difficult to use.

I'm not sure I like this but it's hard to say. I just haven't had the time to work it out.I'll update later. The polished finish may pick up scratches or scuffs with frequent use.

It arrived with a crack that catches the thread. Unusable.

Very nice little lucet if you could use it. Mine came with a crack on one of the upper posts that catches the thread if you try to use it. That crack makes a snag on some threads, and difficult to use no matter what. I suspect quality control is not good with this company.

Pros
  • Crafting
Cons
  • The fork may be prone to bending or warping if not handled carefully

So so small in my review

Not really a finished product. Compared to other lucet I have it is quite poorly made. Mass produced with little attention to detail like finishing the working edges. Not a good deal for the price.

Pros
  • ★ Bone Lucet Fork Cord making Braiding Weaving Tool - perfect for knitters, crocheters and all fiber artists.
Cons
  • The bone material may not be sturdy enough to withstand heavy use over time

Small but comfortable in my small hand

It's small and feels great in my small hand. My only concern is the tops of the prongs being squared off. They are not sharp but not pleasant to run my thumb across. A little sanding and I think that this will be my new favorite.

Pros
  • ★ When one tries to imagine the life of a Late Middle Age lady, the first thing arising into one’s mind is surely the image of a damsel playing with a lucet in the shade of the towers of a beautiful castle. Cons
  • It may be difficult to find replacement parts or accessories for the Mythrojan Bone Lucet Fork

I don’t understand the negative reviews

I actually purchased the horn lucet first, they are identical except for materials used, the horn is smoother than the bone which makes it nice for loftier yarns. I liked it so much I bought the bone version which works better for smooth dense yarns like crochet cotton and silk gimp. The size is small, but the space between the horns is what really counts as you’re limited by that space. If you want anything above a sport weight you might consider a larger lucet as this size is better for finer…

Cons
  • The tool may be too large or bulky for users with smaller hands

Easy to Use - my new review

This tool was smaller than what I thought it was going to be but very easy to use. Made my first cord with it. Can’t wait to try different types of cording.

Pros
  • The polished finish of the Mythrojan Bone Lucet Fork creates a sleek and professional look for all of your cord weaving projects
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those with sensitive skin or allergies to bone material
