Great for Revainsound ULTRA HD-- Great performance at a very low price

High quality audio streaming is quickly gaining popularity thanks to Revain (and before that TIDAL). In order to get full 96kHz 24-bit audio, your desktop computer probably needs a new sound card. This card is a good choice. Installation can be problematic. There is no sound at all. Limited to 16-bit 44kHz. The workaround is simple: 1/ Throw away the installation CD that came with the card. 2. Google "audigy fx driver win 10" and visit support.creative.com. It installs version 6.0.103.305 /…

WORKS PERFECTLY! SOUNDS GOOD! COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS 10!

I bought this to record with. And I think it will do a wonderful job. But the other reason I bought it was so I could embrace my audiophilia with a top-of-the-line Soundblaster card, and I've trusted creative people with my sound choices since I was a child. AND IT SOUNDS AMAZING. TIPS AND RECOMMENDATIONS! Read the manual, or as my father called it when others asked him about their technical problems, RTFM. Most of the problems I can attribute to others are probably due to not following the…

Doesn't work with included drivers, but great with Windows 10 drivers!

At first I was angry. I installed the drivers and followed the instructions but I had no sound at all. It was uncomfortable. I ran Creative's own driver update software and it says I have the latest drivers. I've rebooted several times to no avail and was about to erase and send it back when I tried to open Device Manager. I clicked two drivers for this sound card, right clicked and checked for updated drivers. Windows Time found "better" drivers for both. Although manufacturers often do NOT…

Installing Windows 10

The instructions and the CD that came with it were for Windows 8. For Windows 10 you have to do things a little differently. You should definitely not use the CD as it contains outdated software. Other reviewers have said you have to go into the BIOS to disable onboard audio, but I found this unnecessary and it's best not to go into the BIOS. You can turn off the built-in sound from the control panel. I also wanted the audio jacks on the front of my computer to work (they were plugged into the…

Native Linux support. hardware information. Sale.

Basically a variant of the Sound Blaster Audigy 2, except it uses a PCIe slot instead of PCI. Works great on latest Linux/ALSA versions with built-in snd_emu10k1 driver. It was automatically detected and activated without additional driver installation. I believe reviews claiming this doesn't work on Linux must have been submitted years ago, before the driver was updated to recognize the card, or with older Linux installs. Now it works. Tested on Ubuntu 16.04 and 16.10. It's one of the very few

An incredible purchase for a top performer!

The Sound Blaster/Audiology FX PCIe sound card is really great at this price point. I only use it with a 2.1 speaker system, but it clearly supports 5.1 systems along with some customization options. The sound is clear and spacious - it's almost unbelievable that this sound quality can be achieved at such a low price. A few installation/configuration notes: I'm using Windows 10 and therein lies the problem. It is clear that this sound card has been in production for several years - long before…
