I have three children. Tried 3 times to get it just right. It just sucks. Period. Not a good product. The tray is too shallow for mixing, so it will congeal if you stir slowly. It's also difficult to get the order right and it's so messy. And I have already made such products.

Many reviews said it sets quickly. I followed the directions and gradually added plaster of paris and water with the other half of the ingredients and had no problems. The mixing process is very messy because the tank is not very deep. But my 3 year old had a lot of fun with it because I don't mind cleaning.

Terrible product. I only bought this one because the one we used 4 years ago is no longer made. It's almost impossible to get the right consistency even if you follow the directions. Too dirty because the tray is so flat. When I took my daughter to do the handprint, it dried so quickly. We even re-wet it and it was a disaster. Disappointed because I bought 2. I won't do the second one and this one is now in the trash.

Very hard to tell when you're ready for a palm print. If you dry faster than you think you will need more plaster and you won't get a good job the first time as you can see. And it only takes 1 try. Be prepared to try multiple times. Buying a set I want to do it for you. . I got better after buying a 10lb cast and trying it and it worked much better. See the first picture. This is the 1st attempt with instructions. Next comes flour dough and poured with plaster, so much the better.

Listen. I should have read these reviews but was in a rush to buy. The tray is shallow (which would be good for a deep handprint) but it's too shallow to shuffle. The directions are either wrong or disabled or something like that. . But start with half the mixture and some water. It started out well with a good consistency, but as I slowly added the water the powder started to set before we could mix everything together. I liked the value I paid for this item, got 2 for my two children aged 5 and 7 which I received very quickly. The kids were very excited but were dying to put the paper away as it was a bit messy. It was a little tricky to get the right consistency, it was easier to add a little at a time than to add all at once. I may have used a little more than a cup of water instead of the suggested 2 cups, it didn't take too long to set up, maybe 5 to 10 minutes until after my kids had made a handprint…

This product could be good if the instructions were terrible and the mixing bowl was too small. Once I mixed the product properly, it was too ready to use and I had to throw it away. Instructions tell you to do a little at a time, but following them doesn't work. It also says to use "warm water" that's "slightly warmer than room temperature," but you probably want it to be warmer. The bowl is too small to mix properly.
