Description of 🧡 Enhance your quilting precision with Creative Grids Quilt Ruler 4-1/2in Square - CGR4

This 4-1/2 inch square is the perfect companion for anyone who loves to work with the 5 inch pre-cuts on the market. The diagonal line makes trimming half-square triangles created with these 5 inch squares a piece of cake. It features easy-to-read black and white markings printed in 1 inch grids marked in 1/8 and 1⁄4 inch increments. Use the easy-to-read, black numbers (printed on white dots) and the 1/4 inch grip sides to cut whole inches. The 1/4 inch dashed lines printed on two adjoining sides aid in trimming seam allowances. Use the patented Turn-A-Round feature – designated by the easy to read, numerical white numbers (printed on black dots) and the 1/2 inch grip sides – to add the 1/2 inch seam allowance. A 45 degree angle is printed in black and is used to trim half-square triangles to size. White horizontal and vertical lines are printed on the square so the center of the ruler is easily distinguishable. Use these lines to square up blocks based on four-patches or embroidered and appliqued blocks. The ruler slides easily over the fabric until pressure is applied. Then, our exclusive gripper holds the fabric in place while cutting, eliminating slipping and miss-cuts!

Better Than Expected

Can't wait to try it. It feels just as good if not better than my other ranges. I think I didn't read the part that it is a non-slip design. Basically there are a few circles at the bottom and a 1/4 inch nub border to add a smooth texture. The diagonal goes from corner to corner, which is perfect for my project of squares made up of two triangles in the middle. Multiple grid marks for 1/4 and 1/2 inch. I will buy more of these in larger sizes.

Pros
  • Use the patented Turn-A-Round feature, indicated by easy-to-read white numbers (printed on black dots) and 1/2" grip sides, to add 1/2" seam allowances. The 45 degree angle is printed in black and is used to cut half square triangles.
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

The best non-slip rulers I've ever tried!

My quilting friend recommended this brand to me and I'm so glad I tried it! It drives me crazy when the rulers slip when you're slicing with a slicer, and the easy-grip circles on these rulers are very effective. I am completely satisfied with this brand and I am gradually replacing the most common sizes with Creative Grid. and add a few more that I haven't had yet. I'm this particular size so I could have a small ruler that I can move around more easily for marking and small cuts.

Pros
  • The square has white horizontal and vertical lines so you can easily see the center of the ruler. Use these lines to align the blocks based on the four patches or the embroidery and applique blocks.
Cons
  • boring packaging

Some are just better

I've been knitting for 4 years now so I'd say I'm a beginner/intermediate. However, I started the bitbwpukd brand line thinking it would be good as it is quite a popular brand. That's why I buy a lot of these in different sizes. This works fine for most users. But for my small needs you absolutely need this ruler. He doesn't slip. In some cases I want the ruler to slide, in others I don't. I had no idea how much extra work had to be done to keep it from slipping until I got this ruler. You…

Pros
  • The ruler glides easily over the fabric until pressure is applied. Our exclusive grip then holds the fabric in place as you cut, preventing slipping and sliding!
Cons
  • Not bad but...
