Messy and Overpriced Charcoal Set

This charcoal set is more trouble than it's worth. The charcoal creates a ton of dust and smudges everywhere, making it impossible to handle without smearing. The set is also quite pricey for the amount of charcoal inside. The only redeeming quality is that it might work well for beginner artists who are just starting out in the world of arts and crafts.

Pros
  • Long-lasting quality charcoal sticks
Cons
  • Charcoal dust can smudge and create a mess while drawing

Great tool to expand your drawing arsenal!

Excellent product, I've had it for a long time. I used this kit to paint Michonne from The Walking Dead by spraying some sort of working fixer on her and it has been a beautiful piece of art ever since. The set is well made and easy to use as expected. I used the brush to blend the shadows and they spread fantastically. I also like the jar it came in, thanks!

Pros
  • Arts, drawing and craft supplies
Cons
  • Small parts

Fantastic compressed charcoal, terrible grape charcoal.

It is one of the finest pressed charcoals in the business today. Low binder content, reminds me of charcoal before all the companies were bought out. The pens are great too. However, the grape charcoal looks poorly finished, with a core that shouldn't be there, as if it was taken out of the kiln too soon. In the future I will be looking into Cretacolor individually pressed activated carbon sticks.

Pros
  • Arts, Crafts & Sewing
Cons
  • Some Mistakes
