Creuset America Salt 8 Inch White Review

We already had a red one and were looking for a second one. The quality is very good and it is a very nice product that helps give the kitchen a nice overall look.

Plastic, no ceramic. Barely works. You have to twist and turn to get something out. The screw on top doesn't make much of a difference. Nice expensive junk. Do not worry.

Very pretty - I'm still debating whether to put it in the dining room or keep it in the kitchen. I think the last. Have you ever desperately looked for salt while cooking? That's not going to happen to these guys, you can tell right away.

Only grinds to a very fine texture, almost a powder. If you put table salt in the grinder, it will get stuck and not grind at all. Very disappointed to be honest I thought I was buying a product that would literally last a lifetime and ended up with a product that never worked properly and is now useless!

being from Le Creuset I expected more than they are. They look good and work well, but the same goes for the cheaper ones from other places. I was expecting metal parts inside, but they're all plastic, so they probably won't last long. In my opinion they are overpriced and you are basically paying for their colour. We have a lot of Le Creuset Flame kitchenware to go well with everything we have.

Produced perfectly chopped salt the first time, great purchase! But FYI, it's important to note that the grinder body is plastic - the description of ceramic refers to actual gears. Ceramic grindstones ("teeth") are essential for grinding salt, as salt corrodes/oxidizes metallic grindstones (in pepper mills), causing rust and breakage. I ordered a salt grinder and received a pepper grinder (the silver button on top of the grinder has a "P" instead of an "S"). The top part was also covered with the dirty residue left after the sticker. I had to rub and rub to get it off. Also, the color is BRIGHT WHITE, not off-white as shown in the picture.
