I bought this to get fruit perfectly cut/shaped to make red light picks for my son's Hot Wheels themed party. Haven't used it for an apple but so glad I bought it for fruit and it can be used to center cupcakes to add frosting or an assortment of icing/toppings for cupcakes.

It's well built but a thicker handle could be used for a lighter grip. Solid Honey Crisp Apple Cores are good, but you have to expend a little energy. For hard apples, you must use the handle of a spoon to remove the core from the tool, otherwise the teeth may get caught in your hand. It's all said, we'll keep it. Next time I'll try a T-handle stoner.

This grain was difficult to use. I've tried carving hard cakes and cake pears and oh my god this thing kept bending! It was easier with just a knife. I'll probably only use this for ripe pears and apples. Even with the apple, it was difficult to use the core and push it out when it was done. Not very sharp and strong. My husband originally bought this to make potato bombs. I think he will be disappointed.

First, there's a big difference between coring an apple and coring a pie! I bought it for the core of apples and I am very disappointed with the product. First, the diameter is too small. A medium-sized apple does not have the entire core removed. Second, it is too difficult to remove the core from the tool. Third, he is weak. The flat metal that goes into the handle is bent after the fifth knob. I core and slice 20 apples at a time to make applesauce and it won't take long.
