I bought a size 10-11 for my 10 year old thinking she was tall as she has a small waist and wears a size 8 in old navy. Surprisingly it fits her and has room to grow but I don't have to adjust the waist despite the slight gap. This skirt is thick and smooth, almost scuba like (but not like) and well made! It looks so cute on her! (Ignore the measurements, my daughter is 50 inches tall, weighs 65 pounds, and has a waist of about 21 inches.

The shorts were sewn inside out. The lining is on the outside and is clearly visible. There is also a stain on the inside of the shorts. They were definitely not tested before shipping.

I'm happy to report that she loves it and can't wait to wear it to school. I like the quality of the fabric, thick and sewn well. She has to wear shorts underneath and it's long enough to be mid-thigh so it's not a problem.

But on that note; For our slim five (almost six) years we ordered 8. There is an adjustable waist to get the best fit. In order for it to be the right length for the child, you need to increase the size and tighten it as much as possible. He's still a bit big. Overall I would recommend this brand.
