worked perfectly for my 1993 YJ

I bought a 1993 YJ that my son and I are restoring. The previous owner apparently completely removed the parking brake. This part was needed to restore the parking brake and it worked perfectly.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Weight

Quality product for the brake system

A quality item. I had to use part of an old ESC to make this for my 99 XJ. The cross member (the part where the wheel cables enter) was too wide. I used a traverse from an old tuner, the rest turned out great.

Pros
  • Absolutely brilliant!
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

The package has been opened and parts are missing!

It was obviously opened and sealed with tape. The nut was missing and as mentioned the bracket is too big to fit in the XJ. I managed to put something together that works between my old and new parts, but it left me frustrated.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Well most parts fit

I am giving 3 stars because my parking brake is working again but I had to use the original brake cable bracket as it is too wide to adjust the parking brake on my 99 xj body. This is a screw that usually breaks. So as long as you have the original controller, you can assemble something that works.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • not the best

Works on my '97 Jeep XJ

Works on my '97 Jeep XJ. On my original, the adjusting nut was rust-welded to the threaded rod. A new cable bracket would fit, but I used my original one as I wasn't sure the new one wouldn't hold due to the larger size. I basically bought it for a new rod and nut so I can adjust the tension and then adjust the tension on the parking brake that I replaced. I had to cut the old one off, the rust on the old nut was beyond the capabilities of the PB Blaster.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive

I've seen a few people report that the rear wire bracket part was wider, too wide for the Cherokee and that they had to use their old bracket for the new threaded rod part. I just installed it, it arrived late but it was a lazy US post office on a Saturday (received it Monday noon). I checked the fit/width in a 2000 Cherokee duct and it was slightly wider but fits really well (doesn't get stuck in the duct it is in) and it's a well made replacement. although Cherokee may not be suitable for…

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
