Seems solid reliable server memory

It seems to work very well on my server for all work based on a Supermicro A1SRM-2558F motherboard running FreeBSD 10.2 with a 3-way ZFS mirror for provided files/data is running. I chose ZFS for its anti-Bitroth feature because TB of backups in various states of decay was driving me insane. The Atom processor on the board turned out to be surprisingly powerful (when running the scrub, it checks the quality of the current 3 x 250 GB of data in about 45 minutes), so I decided not only to make…

Works great on my FreeNAS server with ASRock C2750D4I MB

Perfect for my FreeNAS build. This is ECC server memory, which makes it slightly more expensive than standard desktop memory. If you have a server-class motherboard and are planning to build a NAS, you really should go for ECC storage. Otherwise you are seriously risking your data. There are many articles on Google that explain why this is the case. I didn't believe it at first but I'm glad I spent the extra money. The motherboard I used this memory on is an ASRock C2750D4I Mini ITX. I'm not…

Works great in a ThinkServer TS140

About a year ago I bought a ThinkServer TS140 to run a Plex server and do whatever other server functions I can think of. Came only 4 gigabytes of memory. It worked fine until I had to use the server for additional features. I was concerned that this would not work properly on my server. I pulled out the 4 gigabytes that were in the server, put them in the first 2 banks, put the 4 gigabyte stick in the 3rd bank. Booted up, seen 20GB and been working for almost 2 months with no problems.

Pros
  • Great choice
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
