Solid memory but disappointing RGB.

After shopping I decided to stop at this one as I've always had very good luck with Crucial Memory. wise is great. - I also love that unlike all other brands you can buy them individually and have to buy them in pairs (which is difficult for people on a budget). Cons: - Now the RGB part on the other hand is a whole different story. I downloaded the correct software from Crucial and lo and behold the forums were top notch. You can adjust the RGB up to about 10 seconds before the program crashes.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • There are flaws

Motherboard Incompatibility RGB

I bought this RAM for 3 reasons, it wasn't much bigger than non-RGB, it was fast, no longer selected as XMP in BIOS, and they look really great, they fill all four slots. Poorly? I have an RGB capable motherboard, but this RAM doesn't work directly with an RGB motherboard system. You must use the MOD software in addition to the motherboard software, so there is no way for the hardware to work with any of the RGB motherboard systems. They were only slightly larger than a gigabyte of memory, but…

Looks good, poor software support, coil whine.

When building my third system for 2018 I decided to go with the RBG build (I know it's the original) and thought I'd go with this one as I've used Ballistix before and good ones have had experiences with it. them, and to be honest they haven't let me down. Shipping: Prime held its own again, with 2-day delivery on Saturday and peak times a week after Black Friday. Packaging: I've seen the best packaging for a ram, it was just a plain plastic clamshell which is fine if you buy it from BestBuy…

Memory OK - no sync Aura

When trying to buy 1 memory module instead of 2 I stopped at this one. The memory seems to work fine and works fine, but the RGB doesn't work properly. Mobo is Asus ROG STRIX Z370-F, drivers are up to date, AuraSync software is up to date and storage stays blue. When loading, the module alternates between colors, but then turns blue. I've tried in different DIMM slots and also tried alone with no G.Skill memory and no luck. I haven't done a memory test yet, I'll take care of that later. When I…

Good RAM after troubleshooting

I had some issues with this RAM initially but now that everything is fixed it works great. I used this RAM on my first PC build and got blue screens all the time. After updating my motherboard BIOS, resetting Windows and installing all the drivers to no avail, I found that the problem was with the RAM (using the Windows memory diagnostic tool). I swapped the RAM but still the same problems. I eventually discovered that the problem was actually that my motherboard wasn't supplying enough power…

Pros
  • High test scores for support and durability
Cons
  • Useless features

RUNNING THE TESTS Internal

Medium latency, decent speed, overall a decent set of RAM if you're looking for an RGB that works with your motherboard's own lighting ecosystem rather than booting into a proprietary one. Upgraded me from 16GB to 32GB as expected, although I bought four as the DDR4 I had on my system was discontinued - replaced them for consistency. The Crucial name in RAM is solid enough, and that's the main reason I chose these guys over their G.Skill Trident Z counterparts. Overall, there's nothing special…
