should have asked for a refund.

Junk. From day one it kept slipping around the filters and the band began to stretch. It finally broke today, I've only used it with about 10 filters and it's been a pain in the ass every time. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this tool.

Cons

Large filter screwdriver

Does what it promises. This works to remove my Caterpillar gear filters from my vehicles. It's very durable as I had to connect my 3 foot breaker to the filter wrench to free a badly stuck filter. It has 3/8" and 1/2" ratchet connections.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Quick start guide

Light tool: oil filter wrench

Looks solid in the photos. And it will probably work for light use. But it's not difficult. It's a U-shaped piece of chrome-plated metal with a steel cotter pin in the middle. If you use the 1/2 inch ratchet end it will bend and/or split the seam of the thin webbing. I sent mine back in 3 parts.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Exchange possible

Well built and working.

I work as a diesel mechanic in an underground coal mine. The equipment I work with is not designed for serviceability. Often you just can't use filter pliers, so you need a good strap wrench. The problem is finding a well made strap wrench that is tight enough to hold a really stubborn filter. This is the strap wrench.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Strong torque power

This is a professional filter removal tool. I'm an old shade tree mechanic who has struggled with countless frozen filters for years and uses a variety of tools to loosen different sized stuck filters. I used my own handmade strap tool for a while, but even that didn't work for my latest challenge. I frantically searched the internet for anything to get the job done. This strap wrench from CTA broke the seal with a quick turn of the ratchet like instant magic. However, it is recommended to soak

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Some complications
