Does not fit locknuts

The locking tabs on my truck are larger than a 1" socket. Not suitable for most nuts, be sure to measure before purchasing.

Pros
  • Tires and wheels
Cons
  • Doubtful

Will not work with lock nuts

I bought this to remove the lock nuts on a Honda Oddessy. No socket fits. Both are too big. This tool is great for regular (non-locking) cleats with stripes.

Cons

Does not unlock McGard wheel lock

Purchased to unlock a McGard wheel lock. Couldn't even hit him with a sledgehammer. The problem was solved by purchasing four 13/16 (12 point) deep sockets, driving them into the McGard wheel lock and removing them that way. All's well that ends well. Maybe an impact wrench would have worked, but there was no impact wrench. These don't work.

Pros
  • Ring nuts
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Read more about the story in the Accessories and Parts section

I couldn't get it to work. I have old junk on my ranch. It has special lock nuts and we lost the key. Initially we didn't buy them, so it was impossible to find a replacement. I had an apartment and needed to find a way to remove the lock nut. It's not registered so I couldn't take it to a tire shop. There are two sizes in the pack. They have an internal thread and must be "screwed" onto the nut. One was too big and the other seemed too small, but it might have taken an impact wrench to tighten

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Not bad

Works great on Honda FIT (Sport Model - Alloy Wheels)

Works as advertised. The hardest part was removing the old nuts from the tool after it was removed from the machine. You will need to grind the flats on the part of the old tip that protrudes beyond the tool to clamp it in a vise. I did a rough cut and then filed the flats down to the end of the tool to maximize grip on the vise. After you have the old nut in a vise, hit in the opposite direction to unscrew the tool from the nut. After I removed it from the machine, not much of the nut was…
