I'm getting more filtering than I expected. When I bought these filters they were quite cheap. Follow the preparation guidelines and keep an eye on the taste of your coffee. My coffee needs to be high quality (not decaffeinated) and strong. I drink black coffee and I don't want colored water with an unpleasant taste and smell. I've used two of the 12 filters with excellent filtering results.

Good value for money. Before use I put it in a cup of water. At first this filter floated. Using a spoon, I gently pressed the edges of the filter to force the air out. Faint traces of coal dust first appeared on the descent. Every few minutes I gently squeezed the filter again. this filter differs from the original type from cuisinart. cuisinart is a bit harsh when lightly squeezed/squeezed between thumb and forefinger, the charcoal pellets are more densely packed in the cartridge. This aftermarket cartridge compresses easily, almost flat. the coal pellets rattle easily compared to the more densely packed cuisinart original. I bought these and cleaned our coffee maker with a professional descaling and cleaning formula before putting in the first filter.
