As stated in the description, this blade is designed for DLC-7 series food processors. I have a DLC-7 Special Edition processor and it works great. It is not intended for the Elite series. I use it to julienne carrots and other veggies before blanching them for freezing. I don't think that blade will work on french fries. In my opinion the pieces will be too thin even for small potatoes. To my knowledge, Cuisinart doesn't make a julienne blade big enough for french fries. I bought this blade to

I called Cuisinart and made sure it was the right blade for my model. Only used for potatoes. I didn't try any other vegetables because they seemed very unsafe.
