This stainless steel casserole is an exact replica of the original. It's good. I resisted buying this item but the original item slipped out of my hand and the handle broke when it fell to the floor. I was amazed the coffee didn't spill out as it was almost full, I was sad the handle broke into five pieces. The coffee maker was a fairly new purchase for us but without an insulated jug it was pretty much useless so I bought it.

Today, January 25, 2016, I lifted the pot by the handle to clean it, and the entire lid, including the rubber ring insert, fell apart. I am very dissatisfied with it. I needed to replace my old boiling pot after years of use but didn't want to spend that much money on it. I bought a cheaper one but it didn't keep the coffee hot and leaked. Over the years I have purchased 3 accompanying coffee makers and a spare carafe. I found her so wonderful. However, there is a serious design flaw that causes the decanter to lose its insulating properties. When new, it keeps coffee warm for HOURS.
